This is a USCCA (United States Conceal Carry Association) sanctioned 4-hour class consists of 2-hour classroom work and 2-hour range session. You will learn the proper mindset and preparing for a hopefully never-occur home invasion. We will spend the second half of the class on the range, live firing various drills and finish with several skill tests.
You will need to bring a pistol, 3 magazines, 150-rds of factory ammo. OWB holster and magazine pouches for two magazines, speed loader, eye & ear protection and a baseball hat. If you do not have a gun, or any of the gear described above, you will have an option to shoot from a barrel instead of the holster. Please email me at ben at epltc dot com if interest in gun and gear rental as well as ammo purchase (we have ammo for all calibers). Due to ammo shortage, we also have 5 Glock 44s for students to rent ($10) and 150-rd .22LR ammo available for purchase ($36).
Course Description: Developing a personal & home protection plan is a key component of not only preparing for how we should (or might) react if confronted by a violent crime, but also how we might avoid violent crime in the first place. Within this lesson, Michael Martin from USCCA, developing a protection plan is about much more than becoming proficient with a firearm or writing up a home invasion plan. It’s a plan that must encompass awareness, avoidance, and preparation, so that we’re less likely to find ourselves in a situation where we have no other option than to use our firearm, rather than more likely.
Prerequisite:
1. In an effort to minimize the chances of training criminals and terrorists, a possession of a Texas LTC license, CCW license issued by any other State, Active Military ID, Retired Military, First Responder ID, LEOs and Spouses, civilian job background check such as a teacher, insurance/real estate agent, nurse…etc will be suffice.
2. This is not a “beginner’s” class! Attendees must already know how to safely handle and gun and have shot the gun on a regular basis.
If you are new to guns, please check out our 8-hour Learn How to Shoot a Pistol class.
