“Slide Racker” anyone?

The ability of racking the slide on a semi-auto pistol is critical. Not only it is necessary to chamber a round, it is often needed to “chamber check”, clear malfunctions and lack back the slide. It is an essential skill to keep the gun running.

I have had a couple of students who had problem racking the slide in the recent past. The usual reasons for this problem are due to injury or lack of hand strength. In an attempt to assist these students to rack the slide, I installed a “Slide Racker” to one of my Glock 17 rental gun. Although I would not install the slide racker to my carry gun, it does look pretty solid and I believe this add-on will make racking the slide easier for these students.
